The Possums Vineyard Grenache vineyard is located in Blewitt Springs, McLaren Vale.

There are only four rows saved from the vine-pull scheme of the 1980's and these vines have been re-trellised from bush vine to a single wire trellis.

Only a few select years result in a single vineyard wine being produced and in 2006 the conditions were just right to produce a true varietal Grenache.

The palate is medium bodied with substantial raspberry flavours, cherries and hints of spice, white pepper and seamlessly integrated oak. The tannins are lean and soft with delightful confectionery characters that linger on.

This outstanding example of cool climate, old vine Grenache will drink wonderfully chilled on a warm balmy day or match perfectly to Mediterranean style foods.

As most of the Grenache is consumed 'in-house' there is rarely enough to send for critique or judging!

Maturation for 20 months in 8 French oak barrels

Ageing 6-8yrs

Alcohol 14% alc/vol
